For Thy Maker Is Thine Husband

For your Maker is your husband, the LORD of hosts is his name; and the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer, the God of the whole earth he is called. Isaiah 54:5

This scripture was written by God to His beloved Israel, but I believe that we who are single, divorced or widowed today can also use these same verses as God’s promises to us.

May you read and reread this beautiful chapter and let it bless you as it has blessed me so often.

If you are waiting for a godly man to come into your life? While you are waiting let God be that Man. He wants to be the one that you depend on and be your Provider, Protector, Comforter, and Friend.

He is, after all, the Only One on this earth who is truly able to say “I will never leave you” (Hebrews 13:5). He is the Only One who is able to say to you “I have loved you with an everlasting love…” (Jeremiah 31:3)

Hallelujah! Isn’t that good news!

God is a Friend to the friendless, a Father to the Fatherless, a Husband to the husband-less, a Parent to the forsaken.
Let God be your Husband and take care of all your needs. Trust in God and He will take care of you.

She Is Strong In Faith

But Ruth replied, “Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.” Ruth 1:16

One of my favorite stories in the bible is the story of Ruth.

When we are introduced to Ruth, we meet a woman who is in mourning the loss of her husband, the love of her life. Ruth is enduring enormous suffering, but she still chooses to serve others despite her own grief and pain. Ruth chooses to trust in God’s plan and rely on Him no matter what the circumstances.

I don’t know about you, but my desire is to be a woman who chases after God’s heart and continues to seek Him no matter what my circumstance or how hard the situation I am facing becomes.
Through Ruth’s obedience to God, she created a life full of abundant love and blessings for her and her family. Ruth remained faithful to God and He blessed her.

He blessed her with a beautiful love story. A love story between Ruth and Boaz. God believes in second chances. If we remain faithful He always restores better than before. Just like Ruth, God can turn your heartache and loss into your greatest love story to ever unfold. God blessed Ruth with a love better than she could have ever imagined, and her legacy of love continued through the lineage of Jesus and beyond!

What a wonderful example for women today to follow!

So the challenge for you now is to read the book of Ruth, you will be blessed!.

“Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill His promise to her!” ~Luke 1:45

Love The Lord With All Your Heart

6a00d8341c5bb353ef0147e040a0ba970b

Mark 12:30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’

God created us with a heart so that we would love Him wholly and absolutely. Today, however, our hearts love many things besides God.  The good news is that we can change that at any moment! We can turn our hearts to the Lord Jesus by praying to Him and spending time in His Word. These simple practices can restore our fellowship with the Lord and rekindle our love for Him. We don’t have to remain passive toward God. We can turn our hearts to Him at any time. He will revive us and bring us back to Himself as our first love.

The love in our hearts is determined by wherever we find valuable and is our greatest treasure.

Matt 6:21 “For where your treasure is, there your heart will also be.”

In order for us to love Jesus completely, we have to treasure Him above ALL else. Our affections are the outcome of what we treasure. When we truly encounter the Lord in His glory and worth, loving Him with all our hearts will be the end result.

For the Apostle Paul, Jesus was THE treasure of his life. The loss of everything else was nothing compared to gaining Christ.

Phil 3:8 “What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus, my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ.”

Eph 3:8 “…this grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ”

We have to diligently decide to pursue Him. To get to know Him and His character. Pray to the Lord: “Jesus, I long for You to be my ultimate treasure.”  Spend time with Him.  He delights in you. He wants to be with you and reveal Himself to you. He enjoys you! Set time aside to be with Him only.  If you do this daily, you will see your heart begin to love Him more and more.

Jeremiah 29:13 say’s You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.

1Chronicles 16:11 says Seek the Lord and his strength, seek his face continually.

James 4:8 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Lamentations 3:25 The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.

Isaiah 55:6-7  “Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near; let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

Psalm 119:10 With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments!

1 Chronicles 16:11 Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually!

Psalm 34:10 The young lions suffer want and hunger; but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.

Trust In The Lord

light-green-prayer

Trust in the LORD and do good. Dwell in the land and feed on faithfulness. Psalm 37:3

I trust You, Lord. I trust Your plan. I trust Your goodness. I trust what You can see and I can’t.  I trust You with my life, my hopes, my dreams, and my disappointments.  I trust You with it all, Lord.

We are to trust God in all situations and circumstances, no matter how large or small. It is through faith in The Lord and submission to The Holy Spirit that we can feed on His Word and rest in His love for us.

He is a Faithful God and His Faithfulness is new every morning. He will feed us like a shepherd feeds his sheep, guiding us through all the valleys of life. Great is His faithfulness.

Trusting in the LORD and doing good to others. When we live by these two commitments, we learn to depend upon God in fresh new ways that bring us refreshment, hope, and new joy.

A New Creation

gpak51487892346

Being a new creation in Christ means that the old sinful person you once were has gone as a result of the finished work of Christ.

We begin a lifelong journey of being renewed and sanctified by the work of the Holy Spirit.  God’s purpose is that His people become like the Lord Jesus Christ; therefore the Holy Spirit works in the changed heart and mind of the believer helping them to become conformed to the image of Jesus—to become like Jesus in thought, word, and deed.  A new creation indeed!!!

The new creation is a wondrous thing, formed in the mind of God and created by His power and for His glory.

Beginning Of Wisdom

1uv9f1487728352

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow His precepts have good understanding.” (Psalm 111:10)

“The fear of the Lord – that is wisdom, and to shun evil is understanding.” (Job 28:28)

“A wise man fears the LORD and shuns evil.” (Proverbs 14:16)

“The fear of the LORD teaches a man wisdom.” (Proverbs 15:33)

Once we realize that we need to fear the Lord, we need to seek the path of wisdom. Seeking wisdom helps us understand what it means to fear God.

“My son, if you accept my [wisdom’s] words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding, and if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God.” (Proverbs 2:1-5)

Until our hearts are right with God, we are unable to have the “wisdom that comes from heaven” James 3:17. Without the fear of the Lord, we may gain knowledge of earthly things and make some practical choices for this life, but we are missing the one ingredient that defines a wise person Psalm 14:1, Exodus 20:3, 34:14, Jeremiah 25:6, Matthew 22:37.

The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they have committed abominable deeds; There is no one who does good. Psalm 14:1

And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. Matthew 22:37

Without the fear of the Lord, we make decisions based on our human understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6). When we include the fear of the Lord into every moment of our lives, we make decisions based upon His approval. We live with the knowledge that the Creator of the universe is intimately involved in our every move. He sees, knows, and evaluates all our choices, and we will, ultimately, answer to Him (Psalm 139:1-4).

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct[a] your paths. Proverbs 3 5-6

O Lord, you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways. Even before a word is on my tongue,
behold, O Lord, you know it altogether. Psalm 139 1-4

The understanding that our God of love is also a God of wrath inspires enough fear to help us stay away from evil (Romans 1:18, Proverbs 8:13).

The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way And the perverse mouth I hate. Proverbs 8:13

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, Romans 1:18

God, lead me on the path to wisdom. Teach me to fear You. Amen.

Dear Heavenly Father, I praise You for Your unfailing wisdom that is abundantly evident in all that You do. You are the source of all wisdom. Whereas You are abounding in wisdom, I am lacking. Please help me to grow in wisdom as I increase in my knowledge and fear of You. By Your Spirit, please increase my depth of insight as I study Your Word. Hold me back from leaning on my own understanding, and make me willing to be counted foolish by the world, for then I will have begun to display godly wisdom. It’s in the name of my Savior, Jesus Christ, that I pray. Amen.

God Has A Plan For Your Life

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.  Jeremiah 29:11

God has a plan for all our lives, God loves you – each and every one of you – His plan for you is good and not evil. He has plans to prosper you and redeem you and lift you up whenever you are down. His plan of love for you is beyond your wildest imagination.

Not only does God direct our steps each day, He has also promised that He would make us new from the moment we begin to follow Jesus.  How amazing it is to know that God has a purpose for our lives!

“And I am sure of this, that He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” –Philippians 1:6

When God leads the way, His Word becomes a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path. Only God knows the plans for our lives that will lead us to fulfillment in Him. His plans are always best for us.

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Psalm 119:105

If you are interested in knowing God’s plan for your life, then you must learn to walk with God. You need to develop a relationship with Him. Christianity is all about relationships rather than just religion. And so you must cultivate your relationship with God. You must seek to know Him and not just seek to know about Him.

You can begin cultivating that relationship by spending time in His Word, taking time for prayer, and taking every opportunity you can to be involved in church and bible studies, and small group opportunities. When you seek these disciplines in your life, God will begin the first steps to revealing His plan to you.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;  In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6

But the real message is that life isn’t easy. Having a relationship with God doesn’t mean we won’t suffer.  The difference is that God promises to be with those who trust in Him. Psalm 34:19 says, “A righteous man may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all.” That doesn’t mean life will be easy, but that we will have help overcoming difficult times.

But I would not have you to be ignorant, brothers, concerning them which are asleep, that you sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 1 Thess 4:13

Even if you do not feel Him near, God is there. He promises to never leave you alone. Therefore, wherever you are, where ever you go, God is there. Even in times of trouble, He is with you before, during, and after the storm, never losing sight of you or your suffering. Even as you wonder how you will begin picking up the pieces of your life, God is there … loving you beyond understanding, holding you up, and making a way where it seems there is no way. Reach out for Him today. He is a very present help in times of trouble.

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1.

Today I know who I am and where I am going!  Do you?

Maybe you know about Jesus, but you’ve never given Him your heart. Why not start Today to let that Plan of God be real in your life! It’s so simple all you have to do is – ask Jesus to come into your heart, repent of your sins and become a completely committed follower. Following His plans will grant you everything you need for life now.

Your Plans Are Better Than My Dreams

6bab514d8a14f0adddb5e123cfdc8311

God has a very specific and wonderful purpose for you and me. Do you believe that?  My dreams may not come true, but God’s dreams for me will.  And the good news is: God’s dreams are always much better than I could ever imagine.

As we cling to that place of quiet rest, near to His heart, reading His Word, and listening to His voice, He holds us as we wait on Him. He faithfully unfolds His glorious plans for us in His time.

Always … In His perfect time!

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.  Jeremiah 29:11

A Virtuous Women Who Can Find

proverbs-31-10-who-can-find-a-virtuous-woman-pink-copy

I have to admit, I struggled with this devotion today.  I found myself doubting if I live up to the standards of the Proverbs 31 women.  Then as I studied and prayed about this passage, the Lord showed me something new. Proverbs 31 is believed to be the embodiment of many virtuous women, not just one.She is described not by physical attributes but by her virtues, her Godly qualities. Already I’m feeling a whole lot better, aren’t you?

I realized It all comes down to our heart attitude toward God.  You see, the Proverbs 31 Woman is the epidemy of a godly woman, not because she’s perfect, but because all that she does is a result of her relationship with her Saviour. The Proverbs 31 women is an example to every woman who wishes to please the Lord because she fears Him first and foremost, and every other area of her life is abundantly blessed because of it. This doesn’t just apply to married women, but to every woman.  She understands what it means to be a woman after God’s own heart. If anything, the Proverbs 31 Woman should be an encouragement to all women to pursue a closer, more intimate relationship with Jesus.

So, I have learned that all I need to do in order to be a Proverbs 31 Woman, is put God first and focus on my relationship with Him. He desires to have our complete devotion, He wants to be our first love – and that, dear virtuous woman, is what He deserves.

She is praised not because of her own beauty, but because she is clothed with HIS beauty and HIS strength and HIS honor. When God is given His rightful place in our lives, then He can transform our personalities and everything He made in us to reflect His beauty and grace, thus making us virtuous!

Love The Lord With All Your Heart

hspkl1486937945

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind.”  Luke 10:27

Many of us who love God believe we are doing so with all our heart, soul, mind and strength.  But when we are really honest with ourselves, we find that we fall short in at least one area.

To love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength is to live for God above everything else. It is to use all that God has given you—your heart, your thoughts and even your physical energy for Him and His purposes.

God created us for the sake of love. He has so much love to share and He wants to have an intimate relationship with us.   God truly wants our heart. He wants us to love Him back, to reciprocate that love in a totally committed way.

Loving God with all your heart is spending time with Him in His presence. It’s shutting out all the noise around you and making it to that quiet place. Whether it’s in your bedroom, prayer closet, bathroom, car, back patio, office, just spend that precious time with Him.He wants you to talk to Him, cry out to Him, laugh with Him, and worship Him. It’s having a hunger for His Word and a desire to know all about Him.

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. — Matt. 6:21
The more that I think about what God has commanded us, the more I see that there is a priority in love that sets the course for all of life. If I love God with all my heart, then every decision and step of my life will be made to honor and protect my love for my Lord.

When we love God with all our heart, mind, souls, and strength, our focus is on Him.We’re not consumed with ourselves. We’re consumed with our great God.

May He increase in each of our lives as we love Him more and ourselves less!
