Jesus Is Calling Your Name

08-770x468

God is calling you, but it’s up to you to respond.

In 1Timothy 2:4 it says: “God desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” God has an incredible plan for your life, and He wants to use you! He wants to save you from a life of sin and unhappiness to a life of true peace and joy. He wants to prepare you for eternity.

God is calling you. He loves you and wants to have a personal relationship with you!

A personal relationship with Jesus is the most important decision you will ever make in your life. It is unlike any other relationship. If you go into eternity without this relationship, you will spend eternity apart from Him.

By His sacrificial death on the cross, Jesus took the sins of the entire world on Himself and made salvation available for everyone (1 John 2:2), but this salvation is not automatic. Only those who personally choose to believe in Christ are saved.  Listen to His words:
* “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).
* “For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day” (John 6:40).
* “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies” (John 11:25).
Choosing not to believe in Jesus, leads to eternal condemnation:
“Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son” (John 3:18).

Are you a sinner? The Bible declares  “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23); and “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one” (Romans 3:10). All of us have sinned, and so we have all come short of the perfect righteousness which is required for everlasting life in heaven.

Are you a sinner in need of saving? Then look unto Jesus for salvation; “seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near” (Isaiah 55:6). Confess yourself to be a sinner, who has sinned against God in thought, word, and deed. Believe and trust in Christ the Savior.”For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9).

Opening your heart to Jesus is making a decision to stop living for yourself completely, and giving Him full control, as your Lord and Saviour. It is a totally life-changing decision.  Jesus came to save you, and make a way out of all your sorrows, and this amazing new life is what He will lead you into, step by step if you will answer His call.

Don’t let anything hinder you from making life’s most important choice – open the door of your heart to Jesus today.

Prayer For Salvation

God’s love is not based on our goodness or how we perform but rather on who’s we are and we are all God’s children when we accept His son, Jesus Christ, who gave His life for all of us. Receiving the love of Jesus and living in his love every day, is the first and most essential step in having a love worth giving. Jesus gave His life for you! If you desire to know God’s unconditional love and want to follow Jesus, you can pray this prayer of salvation.

Dear God in heaven, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I acknowledge to You that I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins and the life that I have lived; I need your forgiveness.

I believe that your only begotten Son Jesus Christ shed His precious blood on the cross at Calvary and died for my sins, and I am now willing to turn from my sin.

You said in Your Holy Word, Romans 10:9 that if we confess the Lord our God and believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead, we shall be saved.

Right now I confess Jesus as the Lord of my soul. With my heart, I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead. This very moment I accept Jesus Christ as my own personal Savior and according to His Word, right now I am saved.

Thank you, Jesus, for your unlimited grace which has saved me from my sins. I thank you, Jesus that your grace never leads to license, but rather it always leads to repentance. Therefore Lord Jesus transform my life so that I may bring glory and honor to you alone and not to myself.

Thank you, Jesus, for dying for me and giving me eternal life. AMEN.

If you decided to repent of your sins and receive Christ today, welcome to God’s family. Now, as a way to grow closer to Him, the Bible tells us to follow up on our commitment.

  • Get baptized as commanded by Christ.
  • Tell someone else about your new faith in Christ.
  • Spend time with God each day. It does not have to be a long period of time. Just develop the daily habit of praying to Him and reading His Word. Ask God to increase your faith and your understanding of the Bible.
  • Seek fellowship with other followers of Jesus. Develop a group of believing friends to answer your questions and support you.
  • Find a local church where you can worship God.

When you accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, you will receive the GIFT of the Holy Spirit [Holy Ghost], as it states in Acts 2:38:

Acts 2:38 – King James Version (KJV)

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

PLEASE NOTE: Confession of your sins is not something you do just the one time or periodically. Whenever you sin, you should immediately repent [ask forgiveness from the Lord] and turn away from your sin.

Then, as you grow in Christ [become spiritually mature], and your love for Him grows, you should be seeking Him through His Word [Holy Bible]. You will need to find a bible-based church and study God’s Word, and eventually become water-baptized. It is through water-baptism that you show your obedience to the Lord. Water baptism is a symbol of your salvation from the dead. You were dead but now you live, for the Lord Jesus Christ has redeemed you for a price! The price was His death on the cross!

Dr. Charles Stanley of InTouch Ministries states: “In terms of salvation, you cannot separate faith and repentance—both happen simultaneously. In order to be saved, you must place faith in Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and that faith decision requires a change of mind (repentance) about your way of life. Yet many people mistakenly believe they must change their way of living long before they can make a faith decision for the Savior. The truth is, repentance does not mean that we must completely change our ways and “clean ourselves up” so we can receive Christ as Lord.

If you’re holding off on a decision for Christ until you think you are “ready” or “worthy,” you’re waiting in vain. Jesus is ready to receive you right now. Only as a child of God will you find the power—His power—to truly become the person you were created to be.”

The Goal Of The Bible

sgbek1486875012

Without God’s written word — explaining and preserving for us who God is and what he has done — there would be no saving knowledge of God, no new birth, no faith, no seeing and savoring of God’s glory, no experience of forgiveness, no transformation, and, in the end, no completed and beautified Bride for the Son.

Oh, how thankful we should be that God has given us, and preserved for us, his Word!

Thank you Father for making yourself known to us, showing us the way of salvation through faith in your Son. We ask you now to teach us through your word, so that we may be ready to serve you, for the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

What We As Christians Show The World

here-i-am-send-me-1024x399

We are living in amazing times. We are seeing the Bible unfolding right in front of our eyes.  We have been appointed and raised up for such a time as this!  Christ could come at any moment. I believe that with all my heart—not because of what I hear on the news, but because of what I read in Scripture.  I believe that we are the generation that will see His return.

This made me start thinking about the divisions that exist in the world today. I guess in some ways I have been naive in regards to how the world views Christianity and Christians. I recently had a conversation (on social media) with someone that has a very negative image of us. His opinion was that there is a deep-seated political hatred, racism, and bigotry hidden behind the guise of Christianity. This broke my heart and led me to reflect on the things I post and comment on. People are watching and listening to everything we say and do. How can we ministry to people in love, if we come off callous, judgemental and unforgiving.

Christians, we need to remember that we are Christians first. We represent Jesus and his church. When we speak, it should reflect the priorities and character of our Lord and Savior.  We are his ambassadors and sometimes the only Jesus people will ever see.  This concern means that we need to take extra care to consider the words we speak in person as well as online.

I love this statement from crossroads church; I think it is worth considering:

“Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.” People who have experienced grace should speak in a way that exhibits grace. Often, we post the first thing that comes to our minds about an issue, don’t read it to see how it sounds, and end up bringing shame upon Christ and his church through our hasty speech. Venting opinions that are not thought out and that insult others is a sign of tremendous foolishness, demonstrates a lack of love for our neighbors, and does not bring honor to Jesus.
Before you post something, read it three or four times. Take a screenshot of it and send it to a friend. Is it kind? Is it accurate? Is it designed for the good of others? Will it negatively impact how other people think of Jesus?    excerpt from Crossroads church.

Time is short and the day of the Lord coming for His Church is drawing near.  The questions we should ask ourselves is this:  Are we prepared?  Are we gathering or are we scattering? We know that Christ is the Great Gatherer, and if we do not gather (his people) with Him, He tells us that we are scattering (his people), In other words, we work against Him. The only way we can help Him gather (his people) is by winning souls and fishing for men.  We need to redeem the time.  We all have a limited time on this earth, which should be fully devoted to God and His service.

“Redeeming the time, because the days are evil” (Ephesians 5:16).

He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me, scatters  Matthew 12:30

35 Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. 36 But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary[] and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. 37 Then He said to His disciples,“The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. 38 Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”  Matthew 9 35-38

I don’t know about you, but I want to be found faithful.  I want to be like Isaiah, with my heart saying “Here I am Lord send me!”

I heard the Lord’s voice, saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am. Send me.”  Isaiah 6:8

The real question, however, is this: Are you ready for Christ’s return? You can be, by turning to Him and putting your faith and trust in Him. Don’t take His warnings lightly, but commit your life without delay to Jesus Christ.

If you have not given your life to Jesus, please consider doing it now:  https://thejoyfulchristianministry.com/2017/01/26/prayer-of-salvation/

Jesus Came Not To Condemn You But To Save You

cztsxjlxgaauuzt

“Jesus Christ came not to condemn you but to save you, knowing your name, knowing all about you, knowing your weight right now, knowing your age, knowing what you do, knowing where you live, knowing what you ate for supper and what you will eat for breakfast, where you will sleep tonight, how much your clothing cost, who your parents were. He knows you individually as though there were not another person in the entire world. He died for you as certainly as if you had been the only lost one. He knows the worst about you and is the One who loves you the most.
If you are out of the fold and away from God, put your name in the words of John 3:16 and say, “Lord, it is I. I’m the cause and reason why Thou didst on earth come to die.” That kind of positive, personal faith and a personal Redeemer is what saves you. If you will just rush in there, you do not have to know all the theology and all the right words. You can say, “I am the one He came to die for.” Write it down in your heart and say, “Jesus, this is me—Thee and me,” as though there were no others. Have that kind of personalized belief in a personal Lord and Savior.”

Unconditional Love Of God

gods-unconditional-love

Do you believe God loves you unconditionally?

This is what I (wrongly) believed: If I am good, I am acceptable. If I help people … if I am a blessing instead of a burden … well, then I am accepted. But, if I fail, mess up, then I feel like a reject — not acceptable to God.

My skewed belief was that I was acceptable only when I was doing well or in the center of God’s will. Clearly, I had not truly embraced my identity in Christ because acceptance is what I already have. We all struggle to some degree with believing God loves us unconditionally. Many of us believe that we have to earn God’s favor. We think, “I read my Bible, so He loves me.” Or, “Things aren’t going so well, so it must be because I’m not doing it right.”

The Lord your God is with you; He is mighty to save and deliver. He will quiet you with His love and rejoice over you with singing. (Zephaniah 3:17)

In this passage, God tells a rebellious people that He actually stands over them singing and rejoicing, like a mother sings over her children to calm them down.

No matter what you have done or how bad you may have blown it, the truth of God’s love is that the God of the Universe, the Creator of this world loves you!

As a believer in Jesus Christ, His spirit dwells inside of us. And He wants to deliver us and quiet the stress of our heart with a love that’s unconditional and not based on our performance.

Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” In spite of our sinfulness, God demonstrated His love by sending His Son Jesus to die for us.

Truly, every person was created with a desire and need in his or her heart to love God and feel His love. But it is what we choose to do with this desire—act upon it or ignore it—that draws us closer to the Father or away from Him.

When we enter into a loving relationship with God, He is able and willing to offer His wisdom to guide us  James 1:5.  When we embrace God’s love, we will begin to see people and circumstances as He sees them—from the vantage point of His love.

In light of this, why would anyone choose to refuse God’s love? If you are ready to reap the benefits of God’s perfect love, reach out to Him in prayer today. Ask Him to help you overcome the hindrances so that you may rejoice in His everlasting and tender care.

God’s love is unconditional, it’s free, and all we have to do to experience it is accept it, and rejoice in it. Let’s stop trying to earn God’s love and let ourselves experience it!

Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life.
